Shiru Wa GP, a renowned Kikuyu gospel artist, has bravely shared her nine-year ordeal of being mocked and called 'barren' by friends after marrying.
According to Shiru, she and her husband tried to conceive for nine years with no luck, leading to immense pressure from friends and even causing her to isolate herself.
'I decided to completely stay away from my friends because I felt incomplete and I did not want people to keep asking me about children,' Shiru revealed in an exclusive interview with Mpasho.co.ke.
Despite the challenges, Shiru's husband remained supportive, encouraging her throughout the difficult period.
After nine years of waiting, Shiru finally got pregnant with twins, but sadly, they were born prematurely after just seven months. Tragically, their son passed away one and a half months later while in the incubator.
However, Shiru's daughter, who is now five years old, is a testament to her resilience and determination. Shiru's advice to those going through similar experiences is to pray hard and trust in God's plan.
'Don't sit down thinking of hurting yourself,' Shiru urged. 'There is a time when God seems to be silent, but there is something he is preparing you for.'
Shiru's music is often inspired by her personal experiences, and her song 'There is God in Heaven' was released during a particularly challenging time in her life.
