Joey Muthengi has dismissed online claims linking her to Kenyan international footballer MacDonald Mariga, saying the speculation about a romance and a move to Italy was false.
In an interview on Radio Jambo, Muthengi said she had only described Mariga as a “cool guy” and had not said they were dating. She also said she was not moving to Italy and would only be there for work.
“I only said that Mariga is a cool guy, I didn’t say we were dating! I am not moving to Italy I’ll be back there for work and I’m not getting married, that has never been something I wanted to do. I’m not even dating. I don’t think it’s for everyone, even my mother knows”
She added that she was single and not planning to get married anytime soon. The remarks came after social media chatter suggested she was set to travel to Italy to live with Mariga.
The report also said Mariga was expected to marry his baby mama in an invite-only wedding the following year, with the ceremony planned for Spain.
