Turkish top-flight club Sivasspor has contacted Usain Bolt about a possible move for the second half of the season, according to state-run TRT television.
The approach came after Bolt completed his trial with Central Coast Mariners in Australia earlier in November 2018. The A-League side said he would leave after the two parties failed to agree on commercial terms.
Bolt had already said he was considering whether to continue his push to become a professional footballer. He told reporters that he had received “a lot of offers” and would decide by the end of November whether to keep going or stop.
“I have received offers from many clubs. I will make a decision at the end of November. Either I will continue or I will end my dreams. This is not about money. This is my dream,” he told reporters.
The Turkish league’s mid-season transfer window runs from Jan. 5 to Jan. 31, 2019, leaving clubs a short period to complete any deal.
Sivasspor was sitting 11th in the Super Lig at the time and already had several international players on its books, including Robinho, Carl Medjani, Arouna Kone, Gabriel Torje and Douglas.
The club could not immediately be reached for comment.
