A set of before-and-after photos from a bus trip in Uganda has gone viral after social media users turned the images into a stream of jokes and memes.
In the first picture, the man appears clean and neatly dressed, with the bus visible behind him. In the second, his face is covered in dust and the same vehicle appears to have ended up in a ditch.
The images, which were not dated in the post itself, spread quickly on Twitter and drew comparisons ranging from a rough year to a difficult journey.
