Police in Kilifi County have arrested 14 suspects after the attack in Chakama that ended with the abduction of an Italian aid worker.
Coast regional police boss Noah Mwivanda said the suspects are being held to assist investigators, with police saying some may have had contact with the kidnappers. Officers also recovered two motorcycles believed to have been used by the attackers.
Security teams drawn from the KDF, Police, GSU, KWS, Administration Police and Special Forces have been searching for the suspects in the forest.
Police said three gunmen carried out the attack and shot five people before taking the aid worker.
The incident was reported in 2018.
