Bandari FC head coach Bernard Mwalala has added two familiar faces to his squad, bringing in goalkeeper Mustafa Oduor and central defender Brian Otieno from Nzoia Sugar FC.

Mwalala confirmed the arrivals after Bandari’s pre-season friendly against Coast Stima at Serani Sports Grounds in Mombasa on Wednesday. He said he expects both players to fit into his system quickly because he has worked with them before.

“I’m sure the two players will easily adapt to my style of play as well as gel with the rest of the boys. I’ve worked with them before and I know what they can do,” he told Nation Sport.

The coach said he had not lost a single player from the squad that finished second in the 2018 Sportpesa Premier League. He was, however, not ready to say whether any current player would be released.

He also declined to confirm whether several trialists would be handed contracts or sent to Bandari Youth, which plays in the FKF Mombasa Premier League.

Bandari will lean on the core of the side that impressed in 2018, including goalkeeper Farouk Shikalo, defenders Fred Nkata and Felly Mulumba, plus forwards Shabaan Kenga and Wycliffe Ochomo.

The Dockers open their 2018/2019 SPL campaign against defending champions Gor Mahia in Mombasa.
