Kampala Metropolitan police are investigating the disappearance of self-proclaimed billionaire Lual Malong Jnr after his family reported him missing at Kabalagala police station.
Police spokesperson Luke Owoyesigyire said the family told officers they had not heard from him since November 14. They also said he was taken from his hotel room in Kabalagala by people in military uniform who arrived in two vehicles.
Malong Jnr had previously drawn attention in an October interview with Citizen TV, where he denied being related to former South Sudanese General Paul Malong. During that interview at Paul’s house, he also spoke about his expensive Jimmy Choo shoes and a Sh10 million watch.
The report also noted that a video circulated online last year showing a man identified as Malong Jnr appearing to “swim” in money.
Paul Malong was sacked by President Salva Kiir in 2017.
