Kenyan priest shot dead in Cameroon’s Southwest region as separatist violence spreads

A Kenyan priest was shot dead in Kembong in Cameroon’s volatile Southwest region, according to church sources cited by AFP. The killing took place in an area where violence has intensified after separatists declared an independent state.

One source said the priest was killed in Kembong the previous day. Another official in Buea, the Southwest regional capital, said there had been no fighting at the time and that the priest was inside the church when he was shot.
