A Milimani court on Thursday released a 20-year-old handcart pusher after he admitted entering the Kenya Air Force base in Eastleigh without permission.

George Omulama was arrested by Kenya Defence Forces officers guarding the facility and later handed to the Anti-Terrorism Police Unit for investigation.

According to the court record, he could not explain why he had gone into the military installation. He later told investigators that he works as a water vendor and also offers handcart transport around the Taj Mall area in Pipeline estate.

Before senior resident magistrate Hellen Okwani, Omulama said he had been on a scavenging mission and did not know the military base was a protected area.

The magistrate warned him against repeating the offence.
