A Moroccan woman has been arrested in the United Arab Emirates after police allegedly linked her to the killing of her boyfriend, whose remains were reportedly found after he was reported missing in Al Ain.
According to local reports, the woman had been in a relationship with the man for seven years. The case came to light after his brother alerted police when he could not trace him.
When the brother visited the couple’s home, the woman allegedly said she did not know where her boyfriend was. Reports later said investigators found a human tooth inside her blender.
DNA tests reportedly confirmed that the tooth belonged to the missing man, leading to her arrest. The National AE reported that she was taken into custody on suspicion of killing him.
The motive remains disputed in the reports. One account says the killing followed a revelation that the man planned to marry someone else, while another says the woman told police she acted after he ended the relationship.
She is also alleged to have cut up the body and used a blender to mince his flesh before serving the remains as machboos, a Gulf rice dish similar to biriyani. The reports did not specify how she is said to have killed him.
Police records cited in the reports say she first denied involvement before later admitting the killing and describing it as a moment of “insanity.” She is expected to appear in court.
