Cardi B says she has kept baby Kulture’s face off social media because she wants to protect her from online cruelty.
In an interview with Entertainment Tonight, the rapper said she enjoys motherhood but is careful about how much of her daughter’s life she shares publicly. She was speaking while launching her Fashion Nova X Cardi B line in Los Angeles.
Cardi said she would like to show Kulture to the world, but worries about the reaction from strangers online.
“I’m scared of sharing her to the world. There are too many mean people out there,” she said. “Sometimes I do want to show people how beautiful and how precious she is. She’s so precious. There’s a lot of people that have crazy minds, you know. I want to protect her! She’s my little buggy.”
She also said becoming a mother has not made her abandon her own style. In her view, the only time she would change how she dresses is when she is physically with her baby.
“I don’t feel like I gotta change my style because I have a baby,” she said. “I feel like the only time I should change my style is if I have my baby on me, like, no I don’t wanna wear a goamn thong and walk around [with] my baby. That’s probably the only time, but I don’t feel like I gotta change.”
Cardi and Offset welcomed Kulture in 2018, and the child was about four months old at the time of the interview.
