Vera Sidika wasted no time after returning to Nairobi on Wednesday, 22 November 2018, heading straight into the studio as she lined up her next music release.

The socialite and singer had just come back from Singapore, where she was said to have gone on a shopping trip and reportedly spent Sh1 million on a first-class ticket back to Kenya. Her return came days after she made headlines over remarks about her ex-lover Otile Brown.

On Instagram, Vera shared a photo with two producers she has tapped for the project: Kenya’s Teddy B and Tanzania’s Lizer Classic, who is widely known for his work with Diamond Platnumz. In the caption, she wrote: “From the Airport straight to the Studio With the baddest Producers. Cc @lizerclassic x @teddybproducer. Beasts from the East?.”

The move followed comments she made the previous week insisting she was serious about music and determined to prove critics wrong. Vera said her song Nalia had surprised her by climbing to number one on YouTube, adding that doubters had not accepted that she could sing.

She also said she intended to represent Kenya well as a Kenyan artiste with international ambitions, and that she wanted to build her brand first as a solo act before considering more collaborations.

The new studio session suggests Vera is pushing ahead with that plan, even as attention around her personal life continues to trail her music rollout.
