On July 18, 2019, a significant crackdown on counterfeit currency operations took place in Nairobi, with detectives making a major bust in Fedha Estate.
According to the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI), the arrests were made following a tip-off, and the suspects were found in possession of fake $10 million in US currency.
Additionally, the DCI reported that some chemical believed to be used in processing the counterfeit currency was recovered from the suspects' house.
The suspects were also found with a fake motor vehicle number plate and an iPad labeled 'GOK.'
The DCI confirmed that the suspects have been placed in custody, awaiting arraignment in court on Friday.
