KCPE candidates got their results on Monday, a few days ahead of schedule, in the 2018 release that also highlighted the country’s top performers and best-performing schools.
The strongest individual scores went to Olive Mwea of Riara Road Primary School and Rawlings Odhiambo Aketch of Kakamega Hill School, who each finished with 453 marks.
Schools in different parts of the country were also recognised for strong mean scores. The results showed a wide spread of high performers from Machakos, Makueni, Tharaka Nithi, Kwale, Bomet, Meru, Kisii, Kakamega and Kisumu, among other counties.
Among the leading schools listed were Ikombe Primary School in Machakos with 418, The County School in Makueni with 417, Gatunga Junior in Tharaka Nithi with 413, Bethany Christian Academy in Kwale with 409, and Davsi Kiromwok Academy in Bomet with 406.
Other schools named in the rankings included Kathigiri Boarding in Meru at 403, Fred’s Academy in Meru at 403, Imperial Primary in Kisii at 402, Fesbeth Academy in Kakamega at 400.65, and Muhoroni Success Academy in Kisumu at 396.45.
In the Coast region, Bethany Christian Academy in Kwale again appeared among the top schools, followed by Busy Bee in Mombasa at 381, Mtwapa Elite in Kilifi at 379, Likunda Primary in Kwale at 372, Memon Academy in Mombasa at 355, Fairfield Academy in Mombasa at 351, St Agnes Primary in Taita Taveta at 350.88, St Clarit Shanzu in Mombasa at 348, St. Jane’s Primary School in Kwale at 325, and Bila Shaka Primary School in Kwale at 287.
In the Nyanza group, Imperial Primary in Kisii posted 402, Muhoroni Success Academy in Kisumu had 396, St Peter’s Capeview Academy in Homa Bay scored 395, Kehancha Progressive Academy in Migori had 387, Janeiro Academy in Homa Bay had 383, Excel Preparatory in Kisii had 382, Momokoro Academy in Migori had 380.68, Golden Elite Academy in Kisumu had 380, Hekima School in Kisumu had 378.1, and Makini School, Kibos, Kisumu, had 378.
Western region entries included Fesbeth Academy in Kakamega at 400, Set Green Hill Academy in Kakamega at 391, Kakamega Hill Junior at 388, Mudasa Academy in Vihiga at 388, Booker Academy in Kakamega at 385, Serve Academy at 367, St Francis Shimanyiro Academy at 359, Lamplighter School in Trans Nzoia at 353, Moses Mudavadi in Vihiga at 349, and St.Francis,Hambale,Vihiga, at 340.2.
Rift Valley schools on the list included Davsi Kiromwok in Bomet at 406, Excel Academy in Nakuru at 394.12, Crescent Academy in Baringo at 390, Queens of Angel Missionl in Uasin Gishu at 389.84, St Peter Elite, Gilgil, Nakuru, at 389.8, Moi Primary School Kabarak in Nakuru at 389.24, Gilgil Hills Academy in Nakuru at 388.71, Bahati North Academy in Nakuru at 387.97, Lizar Schools in Naivasha, Nakuru, at 386, and Ravine Green View in Nakuru at 384.02.
In the central region, Gatunga Junior Academy in Tharaka-Nithi posted 413.49, Kathigiri Boarding in Meru had 403.7, Freds Academy in Meru had 403.49, Alber School in Kirinyanga had 396, Emmanuel Academy in Murang’a had 387.17, Salem Academy in Meru had 387, Kutus Municipality in Kirinyanga had 387, Kerugoya Good Shepherd in Kirinyaga had 380, Havard Primary in Embu had 380, and Effort Junior in Kirinyaga had 379.
The 2018 results drew attention not only to the top pupils but also to the depth of competition among schools across the country, with several institutions appearing more than once in the regional listings.
