On 21 November 2018, a fire broke out at T-Mall along Langata Road in Nairobi and destroyed property worth millions of shillings. The blaze hit the building’s second floor, where electronic goods, including computers, were reduced to ashes.
Kenya Red Cross said the fire was eventually contained and confirmed that no casualties were reported. The incident drew an immediate response from the mall and emergency teams as the damage assessment began.

T-Mall management apologised to customers for the disruption caused by the fire and said there were no injuries. In a statement posted on its official account, the company said the incident happened that morning, the fire had been contained, and it regretted the inconvenience.

The fire was believed to have started at one of the restaurants in the food court, according to the report. Police said they were investigating the cause of the blaze.
