Alikiba has confirmed that his wife, Amina Khalef, is expecting a baby early next year. The Tanzanian bongo flava star said the child will be his fourth, while it will be the couple’s first together.
Speculation about Amina’s pregnancy began in July after an Instagram photo appeared to show a visible baby bump. The rumours circulated for months before Alikiba addressed them publicly in an interview with radio host Massawe Japanni.
“We are expecting a baby early next year God willing. Katika dini yetu we believe it’s a blessing to get married and after a few months you get a baby. This will be my fourth child,” Alikiba told radio host Massawe Japanni.
Alikiba and Amina held an Islamic wedding in Mombasa that was rumoured to have cost Sh50 million. Reports at the time said Mombasa Governor Ali Joho, a close friend of the singer, helped foot the bill.
The singer later held a separate wedding in Dar es Salaam one week after the Mombasa ceremony. That same day, his younger brother Abdu Kiba also got married.
Speaking about married life, Alikiba said things were going well and praised Amina for her respectful nature. He said the pair had avoided drama during the eight months they had been married.
“I have known her to be a respectful person and that is why we have not had any dramas for the eight months we have been married,” he said.
