Police in Bungoma County have opened investigations into the death of a 15-year-old girl after allegations that she was beaten by her parents when she returned home from her boyfriend’s house.
The archive report says a neighbor claimed the girl had spent Sunday night at the boyfriend’s home and was attacked the next day after going back home. According to that account, the father carried out the assault while the mother allegedly helped restrain the teenager by tying her up before the beating continued.
The girl was rushed to Ndalu Health Centre, where she was pronounced dead on arrival. Her body was later moved to Cottage Mortuary in Ndalu.
Police reportedly took the mother to Ndalu police station as they searched for the father, who had gone into hiding. The allegations remain under investigation.
