Police in Kisii are holding five male KCSE candidates after they were found hiding inside St Mary’s Nyamagwa Girls High School, dressed in girls’ uniforms. The incident was reported on 2018-11-21, with police saying the students came from St John’s Nyamagwa Boys High School.
According to police reports, the boys sneaked into the girls’ school and hid in one of the dormitories. Officers later discovered them while they were still in the uniforms.
County Director of Criminal Investigations James Kipsoi confirmed that two of the students were arrested on Monday night, while the other three were picked up on Tuesday. He said the five would face trespassing charges.
“They will be arraigned once they are done with their exams,” he added.
Police sources said the boys were not taken to court immediately because the matter was not tied to the ongoing national examinations. Kisii County Police Commander Bernard Muli said the students had been allowed to continue with their exams from home.
“We have agreed that they sit their exams from home. We will present them in court once they are done with their exams and after carrying out further investigations,” Muli said.
Two of the students were released on police bond to allow them to complete their exams.
