Nyakundi Report notes that the 2018 KCPE top performers list was published on 20 November 2018, highlighting pupils who posted the highest marks across several regions and schools.
At the top of the national list were Olive Mwea Wachira of Riara Road Primary in Nairobi and Rawlings Odhiambo Aketch of Kakamega Hill School, both with 453 marks. Mogusu Victor Momanyi of Emmanuel Springs Academy in Makueni followed with 452, while Asanga Leonard Munayi of Moi Primary School, Kabarak, scored 451.
Several pupils were listed on 449 to 441 marks, including Merabu Adan Osinga of Booker Academy in Kakamega with 449; Ashley Wambui Wambugu of Kutus Municipality Primary in Kerugoya with 447; Joshua Angwekwe of Rudan Junior Academy and Njue Chantal Njeri of Thika Road Christian School, both on 446; and Namisi Sharon Namikoye of Tender Care Academy and James Sewe of St Peters Cape View, both on 445.
The list also placed Njagi Ronnie Gathuku of Effort Junior School, Kerugoya, and King’ori Karleen Njeri of Riara Road Primary on 444 marks, alongside Onyango Rueben Ombura of M.M Shah, Kisumu; Charles Chiteti of St Peters Boys in Kakamega; and Njoroge Karanja of Makini. Fleon Ogutu of Gilgil Hills Academy and Wanjohi Ivy Nyambura of High Peak Junior Academy, Naivasha, each had 443.
Other pupils on 442 included Alvin Gikunju of PCEA Kahawa Sukari, Dorothy Hadassah of Genesis Preparatory School in Kisii, Njonje Jefferson Amukhono of Marel Academy, Debra Gakii of Kathigiri Boarding School, Hilary Muriungi of Fred’s Academy, and Kevin Manyansi of Makini School, Nairobi. Those on 441 included Waihenya Elizabeth Wanjeri of Nyeri Primary, Muchiri Brian Nderitu of Elite School, Murang’a, Ian Kiama of Kathigiri Primary, Abundance Kariuki Nyaga of Fred’s Academy, Sirma Amy Jemutai of Ongata Academy, Samora Ochieng of St Peters’ Boys, and Sala Abdimaaid Yakubu of Makini.
In the Coast region, Mvurya Hassan Wanini of Likunda Primary School in Kwale led with 440 marks. He was followed by Rachael Rehema Masa of Bamba Kofi Academy in Kilifi with 434, Fatma Anis of Memon Academy with 433, Bushuru Joan Ongachi of Mtwapa Elite Academy in Kilifi with 431, and Evans Musyoka of Coast High Vision and Mahenzo Yeri of Dzikunze in Kilifi, both on 430.
For Northern Kenya, Mohammed Isack of Moyale Junior posted 430 marks, Mohamed Diis Furqan of Integrated Academy in Wajir had 426, and Britney Kirimi Mwenda of High Vision Junior School in Isiolo County scored 421.
The published list repeated some entries and grouped pupils by region, but the marks showed a wide spread of high performance across Nairobi, Western, Coast and Northern Kenya in the 2018 KCPE results.
