Reports around McDonald Mariga’s private life have been sharpened by claims from a family source that the footballer is preparing to marry Kenisha in Spain in summer 2019.
The source said Mariga has a daughter with Kenisha and that his younger brother, Victor Wanyama, will serve as best man at the ceremony. The same account rejected suggestions that Joey Muthengi was ever in a relationship with the player.
“He has a daughter with a mixed-race woman, Kenisha, and they are planning to get married in Spain in summer 2019,” a family member said, adding that “kid brother Victor Wanyama will be the best man.”
Another anonymous source was even more direct, saying: “I’m not sure why Joey has been lying to Kenyans and her fans.”
Joey had previously told SDE that she would be in Milan, Italy, in January for a holiday. In that interview, she said: “Well, I will be moving to Italy in January for holiday. I think I need to get a good break for myself and so I can confirm to you that I will be in Milan for a while. The BetIn deal, whose shoot was in Italy, opened doors for me and given a chance I would still work with them,” she said.
She also added: “I don’t know where this (relationship) will take us. Ask Mariga.”
The family member insisted that the Italy trip was work-related and not a vacation with Mariga. A second source claimed to have seen Mariga on holiday in July with “the sister Cynthia, his wife-to-be and kid in hand,” and accused Joey of not being open about the alleged relationship.
Calls and messages to Joey Muthengi went unanswered.
