Uhuru Hosts Sierra Leone, Mauritius Leaders for Tourism and Trade Talks

On Thursday, President Uhuru Kenyatta met with Sierra Leone President Julius Maada Bio and Mauritius Acting President Paramasivum Pillay Vyapoory, discussing ways to boost tourism and trade between their countries.

President Kenyatta commended President Bio for choosing Kenya as a holiday destination, saying the country has a well-developed tourism and hospitality sector with much to offer.

He encouraged other African leaders to consider Kenya as a holiday destination, citing the country's rich offerings.

The two leaders agreed that it was time for the continent to work together to improve intra-Africa trade, enhancing the continent's economic bargaining power globally.

President Kenyatta invited President Bio for a State visit to explore further areas of cooperation and boost economic and people-to-people ties.

During a meeting with Acting President Vyapoory, President Kenyatta praised the enhanced bilateral ties between Kenya and Mauritius, noting that the implementation of agreements signed in April was progressing well.

President Vyapoory commended Kenya for hosting a successful COMESA summit, saying such meetings help consolidate the region's economic fortunes.
