Kenya's national women's volleyball team, Malkia Strikers, resumed training at the Kasarani Indoor Arena on Thursday morning, gearing up for the Intercontinental Olympic qualifiers in Italy, scheduled for early next month.
The team arrived back in the country on Tuesday from Egypt, where they finished second behind defending champions Cameroon at the 2019 Women's African Nations championship.
Coach Malkia Strikers will now focus on strengthening all departments after several unforced errors in reception denied them a chance to bag the coveted African title.
Despite their loss to Cameroon, Kenya still has a chance to avenge their defeat as the two sides are likely to meet at the African games in Morocco and the Continental Olympic qualifiers in January.
However, the national team faces a daunting task at the Intercontinental Olympic qualifiers, where they will face powerhouse Italy, Netherlands, and Belgium.
