Kariobangi residents find body of mugging victim at roundabout as attacks rise

On 20 November 2018, residents of Kariobangi woke up to the body of a middle-aged man dumped under the roundabout with stab wounds. The man was believed to have been mugged before being killed.

According to locals, suspected thugs took all his valuables before abandoning the body at the scene. The killing has added to growing concern over insecurity around the Kariobangi roundabout.

Area residents said mugging cases in the same spot have been increasing. They pointed to another recent incident in which a young man was reportedly mugged and killed at the same location.

The residents are now urging police to step up patrols in the area to prevent more deaths and confront the criminal gangs operating there.
