On November 20, 2018, U.S. stocks slid as investors dumped Apple, internet and other technology shares, adding fresh pressure to a market that had been powered for years by big-cap tech gains.

The selloff hit all three major indexes. The Dow Jones Industrial Average fell 395.78 points, or 1.56 percent, to 25,017.44. The S&P 500 lost 45.56 points, or 1.67 percent, to 2,690.71, while the Nasdaq Composite dropped 219.40 points, or 3.03 percent, to 7,028.48.

The move reflected growing unease over a group of stocks that had helped extend the long bull market. Apple and other technology names were among the main targets of the day’s selling.
