On July 18, 2019, a shocking incident unfolded in Nanyuki town, Laikipia County, Kenya, where a 29-year-old man was arrested for allegedly beheading his 59-year-old father.

The suspect, Dennis Mwangi, is said to have carried out the gruesome act over a domestic dispute, leaving the deceased, Peter Ndegwa, ailing for some time before his brutal death.

Neighbors reported that Mwangi then paraded the severed head in a bucket outside the estate, sparking widespread shock and outrage.

Laikipia East OCPD Kizito Mtoro confirmed the incident, stating that the motive behind the killing is still unclear, but investigations are underway.

The body of the deceased is currently at Nanyuki County Referral Hospital.
