On July 18, 2019, Kenyan star Akothee revealed that Zari Hassan is officially engaged, sharing a photo of the engagement ring on her Instagram account.
The ring, a one-of-a-kind 3.18 carat unheated and untreated Ceylon cushion-cut yellow sapphire in a diamond halo setting, is described as 'delicate in its feel and elegant in its appearance' by My Jewelry Source.
According to My Jewelry Source, the ring features a 'delightful lemony butter yellow colour of medium saturation' and is 'just the perfect yellow. Not pale or washed out and not neon either.'
The ring, which costs USD 13,000, also comes with a band that costs USD 1,350, making the total price USD 14,350 (Ksh 1,435,000).
Akothee, who posted the engagement ring on her Instagram, congratulated Zari and expressed her pride in her friend, saying 'I AM proud of you my Lady Congratulations @zarithebosslady wait for my visa is out soon??????????, the baby should wait too, mbuzi kala mkeka wambea hapa vizeee?'
