Khalwale's AFCON 2019 Final Prediction Backfires ¶
Former Kakamega Senator Boni Khalwale's prediction of Senegal winning the AFCON 2019 final backfired after the match was played on July 19, not July 17 as he had predicted.
On July 16, Khalwale took to Twitter to share his prediction, stating that 'Lions of Teranga' (Senegal) would emerge victorious and lift the trophy.
However, the match was played on July 19, not July 17 as Khalwale had predicted, and Senegal indeed won the match 4-2 against Algeria in the final of the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations held in Cairo, Egypt.
Many Kenyans took to social media to mock Khalwale for his mistake, with some calling him out for his lack of knowledge about the tournament schedule.
"Fainali ya Afcon ilisogeshwa nyuma ili kuwa kesho tena??? Algeria itachukwa hiyo asubuhi na mapema bila jasho hata kidogo", Markfallen tweeted.
"Huwa unaangalia jumbe zako za Twitter rafiki!!!!! " The Blaade tweeted.
Edwin Leboo also chimed in, saying, "Fainali ni Ijumaa, nadhani unachanganyikiwa na upiganishai fahali,"
It's worth noting that the match was played on July 19, not July 17 as Khalwale had predicted, and Senegal indeed won the match 4-2 against Algeria in the final of the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations held in Cairo, Egypt.
