On July 18, 2019, residents of Umoja in Rongai, Nakuru County, were awestruck by the birth of a calf with seven legs.
The calf, born to a cow owned by Kipkorir Langat, had two additional legs on its back and one near the tail, apart from the normal four legs.
Langat, who had received artificial insemination services from a veterinary officer the previous year, was informed that the cow was expecting twins.
However, the calf's birth defied expectations, leaving Langat and his neighbors shocked and amazed.
"I never expected this and my cow was well all along, what I have seen shocked me," Langat said.
Neighbors gathered at the scene, hoping to catch a glimpse of the rare creature, but unfortunately, the calf had died by the time of their visit.
Residents expressed their amazement at the unusual birth, with some speculating that it might be an abnormality during fertilization.
