Kenya's Under20 rugby team, Chipu, faced off against Japan in their third pool match of the World Rugby U20's Trophy in Brazil on Saturday.
Despite trailing 34-15 at halftime, Chipu managed to reduce the deficit to 48-34 by the end of the match.
Forward Dominic Coulson continued his impressive form, scoring a penalty and setting up Hibrahim Oyoo for Chipu's first try, which he converted.
Timothy Okwemba scored the second try, which was converted by Coulson, and Ian Masheti added the third, with Coulson converting it to give Kenya 24 points.
Samuel Asati and winger Geoffrey Okwach scored two tries each, with Asati converting one to finish the game 34-48 at full time.
Chipu finished third in the pool with five points, three ahead of Brazil, while Japan won the pool with 15 points, three ahead of 2008 champions Uruguay, who finished second.
Kenya lost the opener match 63-11 to Uruguay before beating hosts Brazil 26-24.
Japan will face Portugal, who topped Pool B with 15 points, in the trophy finals, while Uruguay will play against Tonga in the 3rd and 4th place play-offs.
