Musalia Mudavadi, the Amani National Congress (ANC) Party Leader, has urged the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) to promptly investigate the assassination claims made by Deputy President William Ruto.
On June 29, 2019, while attending a special church service at ACK St. Thomas Cathedral in Kerugoya, Kirinyaga county, Mudavadi emphasized the need for a thorough investigation into the matter. This comes after Ruto alleged that some top government officials were plotting to assassinate him in a bid to prevent him from ascending to power in 2022.
Mudavadi stated, highlighting the importance of getting to the bottom of the allegations.
The ANC leader also addressed concerns about the tea sector, expressing fears that unscrupulous businesspeople might be working to bring down the industry, similar to what happened to the sugar industry. Mudavadi was accompanied by high-ranking government officials, including Interior Permanent Secretary Karanja Kibicho.
The investigation into Ruto's assassination claims is expected to provide clarity on the matter, and Mudavadi's call for action underscores the need for a swift and thorough probe.
