On June 29, 2019, South African-based Ugandan socialite and businesswoman Zari Hassan revealed her wedding date via an Instagram Live video after landing in Nairobi on Friday. The mother of five announced that she will be tying the knot on July 18, which is also Nelson Mandela Day.

Zari explained that she and her fiancé chose this date because it will be a beautiful day to remember their marriage, as the world will be commemorating the good deeds of Nelson Mandela for Africa. Nelson Mandela Day is an international day marked on July 18 every year, which also happens to be Nelson Mandela's birthday.

Zari is currently in Kenya for a women's empowerment conference organized by singer Akothee. In April, she had hinted that she would soon be walking down the aisle with her new lover in a very secretive affair, mentioning that she would only invite close friends and family members.

Zari had also announced her engagement to King Bae and later showed off her wedding ring. She shared a picture of the ring on Snapchat, captioning it with the words, “Wedding band trials… Road to being Mr. M”.

Zari's wedding announcement has generated excitement among her fans, who are eager to see her tie the knot on July 18.
