Kit Harington has returned to London after a stint in a Connecticut wellness facility, where he was treated for stress and alcohol use, as reported on June 29, 2019.
Harington, 32, and his wife Rose Leslie, 32, celebrated their first wedding anniversary on June 23. A source close to the couple stated, 'Since Kit left the Connecticut wellness centre, he is back in London with Rose.' The source added that the couple is 'enjoying the summer, spending time with family and friends' and that 'Kit seems well. And Rose seems happy that he is back in London.'
In 2018, Harington was spotted in a happier time. The Game Of Thrones star has been open about his struggles with the intense rise to fame during the nearly 10-year stretch of the show. In an interview, Harington reflected on the experience, saying, 'It was formative years for everyone... If you're Peter Dinklage, you started at 35. It defines that decade of your life, and that will probably be the most bizarre decade of your life.'
Earlier in 2019, Harington made a surprise donation of almost $10,000 to an online fundraiser for the charity Mencap, which supports people with learning disabilities. The actor's generosity came as fans rallied around him after it was revealed he had checked into a wellness facility in Connecticut for 'stress and alcohol' issues weeks before the Game Of Thrones finale.
According to a report by the Daily Mail on June 29, 2019, Harington had stopped drinking during the rehearsal week for his guest appearance on Saturday Night Live, just before he left for treatment. The actor's decision to seek help and his subsequent return to London have been met with support from fans and his loved ones.
