On June 29, 2019, Manchester United finalized the signing of England Under-21 right-back Aaron Wan-Bissaka from Crystal Palace in a deal worth £50m (Sh6.4 billion).
Contract Details ¶
Wan-Bissaka, 21, has agreed to a five-year contract that will earn him up to £80,000 a week, a significant increase from his previous £10,000 a week salary at Selhurst Park, where he was the lowest-paid player in Palace's first-team squad.
United is paying £45m up front, with the remaining amount to be paid in installments, making Wan-Bissaka the club's fifth-biggest signing, behind notable players such as Paul Pogba, Romelu Lukaku, Angel di Maria, and Fred.
Transfer Negotiations ¶
The transfer was delayed due to final negotiations between the two clubs, which ultimately resulted in Crystal Palace securing a 10% sell-on clause if Wan-Bissaka leaves United for more than £50m in the future.
Wan-Bissaka's signing follows the arrival of Wales international Daniel James, 21, who joined from Swansea for £15m, making him the club's second summer recruit.
