French striker Alexandre Lacazette is set to bid farewell to Arsenal after five years with the club, with his contract expiring this month.
As reported on June 3, 2022, Lacazette will leave the Premier League club, bringing an end to his time at the north London side.
Initially signed in 2017 for a then-club record 46.5 million pounds (US$58.41 million) from Olympique Lyonnais, Lacazette became a key player for Arsenal, scoring 71 goals and providing 36 assists in all competitions.
However, this season saw him lose his place in the starting lineup, scoring only six goals in all competitions.
Manager Mikel Arteta praised Lacazette, saying, "Laca has been a fantastic player for us. He's been a real leader on and off the pitch and has been a very important influence to our younger players."
