Published on July 18, 2019, Samsung Galaxy Grand Prime Pro 2018, also known as Samsung Galaxy J2 Pro 2018 or Galaxy J2 2018 in other markets, has received the June 2019 security update in Kenya.

Although it's not common for devices like the Galaxy Grand Prime Pro 2018 to receive software updates in quick succession, this is exactly what's happening. The device is receiving the June 2019 security update a few weeks after the May 2019 security update was released.

The changelog for the new update doesn't mention anything more than the June security patch, but given how soon the software was released following the release of May patches, it's possible Samsung is addressing something critical in the previous update.

It's worth noting that the Galaxy Grand Prime Pro 2018 isn't among Samsung devices that receive monthly security updates. Instead, it's scheduled to receive quarterly security updates, meaning the next security patch level was expected to be August 2019.

For those who own the Grand Prime Pro 2018 handset, watch out for a software update with version J250FXXU2ASG1. This update is still based on Android 7.1.1 Nougat, the OS that powers the device out of the box.
