On July 18, 2019, Nyoi Football Club suffered a 1-0 loss to Eastleigh North in the Kothbiro offseason tournament at the Ziwani Grounds.
The team's fans were left disappointed despite their large turnout to support their home team.
The loss was attributed to the absence of Victor Otieno, a dependable forward who was in school at the time.
Known as Aguero for his similar playing style to Manchester City striker Sergio Aguero, Otieno is a form three student at Jamhuri High school and has been one of the best players for the 2015 Champions.
Eastleigh North emerged victorious in their last Group H match against Nyoi FC, defying expectations as underdogs.
The winning goal was scored by Adan Jabla in the 30th minute, taking advantage of a mistake by the Nyoi goal keeper.
The group stages of the tournament are expected to come to an end on Saturday, with the round of 16 scheduled for Sunday, July 21.
