Former Gatanga MP Peter Kenneth has lost his mother, Rahab Wambui Muhuni, who passed away on Thursday, July 18, 2019, at Agha Khan hospital in Nairobi, Kenya.
According to the family, Wambui had been unwell for a long time and was receiving treatment at the hospital when she died.
Wambui's death comes as a shock to many, including her son Peter Kenneth, who has always spoken highly of her and the sacrifices she made for him.
As a single mother, Wambui struggled to provide for her son, often living in a single room in Bahati estate, Nairobi.
Despite the challenges they faced, Wambui's love and dedication to her son inspired him to pursue his dreams, including his 2013 presidential bid.
Many have taken to social media to offer their condolences to Peter Kenneth and his family, including his close friend and Secretary General of the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD), Mukhisa Kituyi.
"I share the pain of my friend Peter Kenneth on the demise of his dear mother Rahab Wambui. May you and family have the strength to come to terms with this loss," said Kituyi.
