Published on July 18, 2019, a story of body shaming and weight loss struggles resonated with many Kenyan women.

Lynda Nyamgweso, a Kenyan woman, faced cyberbullying after sharing a photo of herself in a swimsuit on holiday with her husband.

She recalled in an interview with BBC Africa, 'I posted this picture because we were happy, we were having fun on vacation, a regular family on vacation… afterwards, I saw that people expected me to wear, I don’t know.'

Body shaming can have severe consequences, leading some women to undergo drastic measures such as liposuction, gastric bypass, or even removing ribs to achieve a desired figure.

Princess Shyngle, a Gambian model, is one such example.

However, many women are struggling with weight loss and body image issues, with some confessing to having low self-esteem due to their weight.

When asked about their struggles, several women shared their worst trolls and experiences with body shaming.
