On July 18, 2019, Esther Arunga, a Kenyan-born Australian, was sentenced to 10 months in jail for her role in the tragic death of her three-year-old son, Sinclair Timberlake.
Arunga's son died in June 2014 due to blunt force trauma to his abdomen at their family home in Kallangur, north of Brisbane.
Arunga's husband, Quincy Timberlake, a former Kenyan presidential candidate, was charged with his murder.
However, in a shocking turn of events, Arunga admitted to misleading police in order to help her husband escape punishment.
