On July 18, 2019, Arsenal secured a thrilling 2-1 win over Bayern Munich in the International Champions Cup at the Dignity Health Sports Park.
The Gunners, who were looking to build on their 3-0 win over Colorado Rapids in their pre-season tour opener, introduced their big guns to face the Bundesliga champions.
Despite parading a near-full strength starting lineup, both sides had to wait until the second half to find the back of the net after going goalless into the break in the evenly-contested clash.
Arsenal took the lead in the 49th minute courtesy of Louis Poznanski's own goal, who directed the ball into his own net off Aubameyang's powerful strike.
However, the lead did not last long as Robert Lewandowski equalised for Bayern, rising in the box to nod home a cross from Serge Gnabry.
With just two minutes left to finish the match, Nketiah fired the Gunners into the lead, capitalising on John-Jules' perfectly placed pass.
The Emery-tutored side managed to fend off Bayern's attacking advances in the dying minutes of the match to claim a 2-1 victory and three important points in the tournament.
