On May 31, 2022, Raila Odinga, the leader of the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM), made a significant announcement during a meeting with the European Business Council in Nairobi. He revealed plans to unveil his administration's blueprint for the first 100 days in office, should he be elected president in the August 9 General Election.
According to Odinga, he will present his papers to the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) on Sunday, May 15, 2022, and then announce his plan for the first 100 days in office on Monday. This move is in line with the requirements for presidential candidates to present 2,000 signatures per county from at least 24 devolved units.
As the Azimio la Umoja – One Kenya Coalition flag bearer, Odinga's administration plans to implement measures that will make it easier for businesses to thrive. He emphasized the need to simplify bureaucracy, taxation, and work permits, making it easier for investors to operate in Kenya. In fact, he stated that his administration will make it easier than in Rwanda to open up a new business in Kenya.
