A recent article highlights the complexities of mental health, particularly when it comes to anxiety and panic attacks.

While often used interchangeably, anxiety and panic attacks are two distinct experiences. Anxiety can be a gradual build-up of feelings, whereas panic attacks are sudden and intense.

One key difference between anxiety and panic attacks is their duration. Anxiety attacks can last for hours or even days, whereas panic attacks are typically short-lived, lasting no more than an hour.

Another distinction is the intensity of symptoms. Panic attacks often exhibit more noticeable symptoms, such as hot flashes, dizziness, and other disruptive symptoms. In contrast, anxiety symptoms can be milder and less noticeable.

Triggers also play a role in differentiating between anxiety and panic attacks. Anxiety can be triggered by specific worries, whether real or imagined, whereas panic attacks can be triggered by a sudden reaction to an event or situation.

Understanding these differences can help individuals better manage their mental health and seek appropriate support when needed.
