DP Ruto Reacts to Eviction Rumors ¶
Deputy President William Ruto has criticized the government over rumors of his eviction from his official residence in Karen, Nairobi. The DP has accused the government of wasting public resources and insulting millions of Kenyans who are starving.
He advised the government to channel the money to programs that will help Kenyans put food on the table.
Some allies of President Uhuru Kenyatta have been pushing for the eviction of the DP from the 'Hustler Mansion' on the grounds that he has allegedly not been loyal to his boss and has absconded from duty.
IEBC Clears Presidential Aspirants ¶
The Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) has cleared hundreds of presidential aspirants to run in the upcoming general election. Aspirants thronged the IEBC offices in their constituencies to present their nomination papers.
Even politicians with questions on their academic papers, such as Kapseret MP Oscar Sudi, were cleared. Returning officers said it was not their duty to verify academic certificates.

The National Youth Service (NYS) is in the spotlight again over Ksh10 billion pending bills. The National Assembly Budget and Appropriation Committee has been investigating the authenticity of Ksh15.5 billion bills.

Locals have been fleeing from the Kerio Valley in Elgeyo-Marakwet County after three school-going children and an adult were shot dead by bandits on Sunday afternoon.
Senator Kipchumba Murkomen and other leaders have accused the government of neglecting the county.
Four police officers are in custody after they allegedly stole Ksh80,000 from a Tanzanian national on Friday last week.
They then went back to Loitoktok before the public reported the matter to the authorities.
