On July 18, 2019, Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko sparked rumors of a romance with Ugandan businesswoman Zari Hassan.
However, Zari quickly put the rumors to rest with a stern Instagram post, stating that she has no interest in the governor.
"This nonsense from this man should stop. No, I have no crush on you, I do not know you, never met you or anything. Please let me be. You are not my type, governor. Thank you," she said.
Earlier, Sonko had praised Zari, saying she was a classy and beautiful woman who had a right to express her feelings.
"Zari is a classy woman and extremely beautiful. She has a right to express her feelings because she has a good taste and knows what is good for her," Sonko said.
But Zari was not having it, and her post made it clear that she had no interest in the governor.
