Kenya Airways is set to boost its cargo operations in the region, with plans to triple its weekly cargo flights between Kisumu and the United Kingdom in mid-June.

According to Ojepat Okisegere, CEO of the fresh produce consortium, the national carrier will also resume cargo flights to the United Arab Emirates and the Netherlands in early July 2022.

Okisegere made the announcement in a recent statement, highlighting the importance of the cargo flights in supporting the region's economy.

Kenya Airways' decision to increase its cargo flights is expected to have a positive impact on the local economy, particularly in the agriculture sector.
