July 18, 2019, marked a day when socialite Vera Sidika addressed rumors surrounding her financial situation. The claims of her being broke emerged following her decision to revert to her natural skin tone.
According to Vera, the speculation that she was broke and could no longer afford to maintain her lighter complexion was unfounded. She emphasized that she has multiple business ventures that contribute to her income.
"Some claimed that I was broke so I couldn’t afford to maintain myself, I have businesses honey so I am good…It was a one-off thing (the skin lightening procedure) so people who are saying that I’m broke maybe think that I get to do this every day but it’s not the case," she said in an interview.
Among her business ventures, Vera mentioned club appearances, detox tea, and a beauty parlor. Her detox tea, Veetox, is a particularly lucrative venture, with each pack selling for KES 3,000. She also earns between KES 200,000 and KES 600,000 from club appearances, depending on the location.
When it comes to international shows, Vera charges a higher fee, ranging from KES 600,000 upwards. This includes a first-class ticket and accommodation in a 5-star hotel. In contrast, local shows in Nairobi and East Africa command a lower fee, with Vera charging KES 2,000 and KES 3,000 respectively.
