On May 30, 2022, Kenyan President Uhuru Kenyatta welcomed his Sierra Leonean counterpart, President Julius Maada Bio, to State House, Nairobi, for a historic bilateral meeting.
The two leaders led their respective delegations in talks, resulting in the signing of seven agreements aimed at strengthening cooperation between the two nations.
The agreements covered a range of areas, including the establishment of a Joint Commission for Cooperation, Political and Diplomatic Consultations, Trade and Investment, Wildlife Tourism, Gender Equality and Women Empowerment, Culture and Arts, and Youth Affairs.
President Kenyatta was accompanied by several Cabinet Secretaries, including Dr. Fred Matiang'i, Amb. Raychelle Omamo, Amb. Amina Mohamed, Joe Mucheru, Prof. Margaret Kobia, and Betty Maina.
The agreements signed during the meeting are a significant step towards enhancing cooperation between Kenya and Sierra Leone.
