Netflix has officially exited the Russian market, leaving 700,000 paid subscribers without access to the streaming service.

The decision comes after the US-based platform announced its withdrawal from Russia in early March, following Russia's invasion of Ukraine on February 24.

According to a Netflix spokesperson, the withdrawal from the Russian market is now complete, with the company's website and apps no longer available to Russian consumers.

As one of the world's most popular streaming services, with 221.8 million users as of 2021, Netflix's exit from Russia is a significant move, particularly given the company's first global loss in subscribers in a decade.
