On August 5, 2018, a shocking incident occurred at the Elgeyo Marakwet County office when workers discovered suspicious paraphernalia at the desk of Finance CEC Isaac Kamar.
The items, believed to be for witchcraft purposes, included cowry shells, which caused a stir and temporarily paralyzed services as officials camped outside the office for hours.
CEC Kamar denied any involvement in witchcraft, stating that the items could have been meant to scare staff.
"I can't understand the motive but who believes in sorcery in the 21st Century," Kamar said.
