Martha Karua, leader of NARC Kenya and running mate to Raila Odinga, concluded a two-day tour in Nakuru with a stern warning to political leaders.
Speaking to residents, Karua emphasized that leaders should not engage in insults or violence to gain an advantage over their opponents ahead of the August elections.
'If you want to be the President, you must respect the one who is still in office. Even if you have to correct him, do so in a respectful manner so that even if you win, we can respect you,' Karua stated.
She also cautioned residents against politicians who offer handouts, urging them to consider candidates with a proven track record of integrity and excellence.
Karua cited the example of former President Mwai Kibaki's administration, which she said thrived despite not offering handouts to voters.
The Azimio La Umoja coalition, led by Raila Odinga, has committed to promoting local manufacturing and creating employment opportunities for jobless Kenyans, Karua reiterated.
'But to achieve that, we will first rid all public offices of corrupt elements with insatiable appetite for public resources. Ours is a zero-tolerance policy on corruption,' she added.
During her tour, Karua addressed rallies in various locations, including Subukia, Kabazi, Maili Kumi, and Naivasha, accompanied by several politicians, including Agriculture Cabinet Secretary Peter Munya and Nakuru Governor Lee Kinyanjui.
